Marriage is an institution and it should never be taken casually!

Marriage, a word, as scared as it sounds, truly holds a sacred position in Islam. Nikkah is what bounds two souls together in our religion. There are certain conditions that need to be fulfilled for Nikkah and the same holds true for marriage.
The first condition (requirement) for marriage between a Muslim man and woman is mutual attraction and then comes the Dowry.
For people who have never met their spouses before marriage, might realize years later if they really love their spouse or better yet are attracted? But that would be too late...wouldn't it be???
Engagement seems like a very important period for the couple to know about each other and to see if they really do attract and if he/she really is the right person.
Where an engagement gives the couple ample time to consider one another within the religious boundaries, it also sometimes shows the man or the woman, that side of their fiance, that no one else might have seen or known .Thereby helping the man/woman to decide whether to take this engagement to the next step (marriage) or call it off!!!
Engagement does seem like a very important part of this institute called marriage!! well to me at-least!!
